About the Leo Europa Forum

Leo Europa Forum (LEF) is the annual Leo convention of European and Mediterranean Leos. The Leo Europa Forum was first held in Vienna in 1976, making it the oldest Leo Area Forum in the world. It has been held consistently every year since then, taking place in a different country each year. In 2025, the Forum took place in Lille, France, and in 2026, it will be held in Tunis, Tunisia for the first time.

So, what is the Forum all about? The programme provides a platform for the exchange of ideas among Leos in Europe and consists of serious and fun workshops, social activities, sightseeing trips, and opportunities to explore Swiss culture. There will also be a presentation of countries featuring projects and culinary highlights. LEF is also the venue for the annual meeting of International Liaison Officers (ILOs): Leo representatives from Europe and Mediterranean countries.

It is a great opportunity to connect with Leos from other countries, meet old and new friends and learn from each other’s experiences!

As President of Leo Austria, I have seen how international friendships formed at the Leo Europa Forum grow into long-term partnerships and service initiatives that positively impact communities across Europe. LEF is not just an event, it is an investment in young leaders who will shape the future through service, collaboration, and shared values.

LEF is the centerpiece of european and Mediterranean Leos. It’s the place where our movement comes together to exchange ideas, get to know new cultures and celebrate our service.

Taking part in the LEF has always been an experience that has left me with something meaningful. You meet Leos from all over Europe, with different languages, countries, and cultures, yet you immediately feel united by the same values and the same desire to serve. It’s a sense of belonging to something bigger than yourself, something you don’t fully understand until you experience it.And it’s during those days that genuine friendships are formed, often lasting long after the event has ended.

For me, it’s also a great opportunity to challenge myself by using English naturally, immersed in conversations with people from all across Europe. You come home enriched not only with new ideas, but also with experiences, perspectives, and friendships that stay with you.
